Bottom line: General Hospital spent the week of August 31 turning a corporate break-in into a body, and then a body into a burial. It took three episodes to get Jack Brennan from the Metro Court pool into the ground, and by Friday two separate people were close to unpicking it.

How did Jack Brennan end up dead?
Monday set the machinery running. Drew slipped into Carly's office and loaded a virus onto her computer, timed to kill every camera in the Metro Court. Ava sat across from Brennan in the Gardens, kept the conversation circling Nina and Willow, and let a drugged drink do the rest.
Drew got his search. What he did not plan for was Charlotte Cassadine and Danny Morgan, who struck out looking through his office and went for a late swim instead. They found Brennan floating in the deep end, and the hour ended on Charlotte's scream.
Tuesday confirmed the identity and split the show in two. Danny tried to talk Charlotte out of calling the police. Ava and Drew went the other way entirely, and by Thursday the pair had put Brennan in the ground near the Quartermaine crypt.
How did Trina work out who was driving?
This one built quietly all week and detonated at a party. At the Quartermaine Labor Day gathering on Friday, Chase got Emma talking and learned that Brook Lynn never arrived at Trina and Gio's set on the night of the Route 91 crash.
He then pressed Lucy about the statement she gave the PCPD. Trina was on the other side of the door for that.
Minutes later, with Jordan standing right there, Trina asked Brook Lynn outright whether she was the driver who left Curtis and Jordan on the road. The credits rolled before anyone answered. Our Friday recap covers the hour beat by beat.
What is Anna actually doing?
Anna Devane spent the week assembling something and letting people watch her do it. She told Valentin on Wednesday that she was onto him. She was at a shooting range on Thursday. On Friday she stocked a trunk at a property she had bought from Sonny, then called Britt with a story about new information on Cassius and dropped a pin.
Britt drove out to Mount Emerson. Jason called repeatedly and Britt ignored him. By the time he worked out where she had gone, Anna had the gun up and a line about nobody being close enough to hear.
What else moved?
- Sonny and Jason. Alexis laid out the paperwork on Friday and Sonny signed. On paper the partnership is over.
- Trina's stalker. Tuesday brought another move against her, running alongside the crash story rather than into it.
- Josslyn. She reported a missing agent on Thursday, which is the official version of the Brennan problem arriving at somebody's desk.
- The tick. Isaiah pulled a Lone Star tick off Ava's head, said the species had not turned up in Port Charles before, and told her he was reporting it.

The Anna cliffhanger is louder, but the Route 91 story has been running underneath the show for months, and Friday was the first time a character said Brook Lynn's name as the driver with witnesses in the room — including Jordan, who was in the car.
