General Hospital Recap Wednesday, September 9, 2026: Anna Fires at a Ghost

The gist — Anna pulled the trigger and everybody lived, because the thing she was aiming at was not there. Chase finally said it all to Willow. And the crash story quietly took a piece out of Trina that has nothing to do with courtrooms.

Previously on General Hospital

Tuesday put Brook Lynn's confession in front of a room that included Trina and Jordan, and Chase walked out of his own marriage over it. Up on the mountain, Jason talked Anna off the ledge by naming Maxie's kids — Faison's grandchildren, by her own logic. He got through, but the gun never came down. All of it is in Tuesday's recap.

What happened on Mount Emerson?

Anna kept talking to someone who was not standing there. Britt and Jason could hear one half of a conversation with Peter, and neither of them knew what to do with that.

Jason worked the only angle he had left. Pull the trigger, he told her, and Faison lives in your head permanently — you lose, not him. Then Anna shouted that Britt was just like her father and opened fire.

Jason put himself in front of Britt. The shot went past both of them, into the space where Anna was seeing Peter.

Did Anna shoot Britt?

No. Britt walked off that ridge unhurt, and so did Jason.

What followed was harder to watch than the gunfire. Anna went nearly catatonic, Jason took the weapon, and when she surfaced she admitted the visions of Peter started back in France. She also wanted to know how Jason had found them: Sonny mentioned the land she had been trying to buy, and somebody had seen Britt driving that way.

What did Chase tell Willow?

Everything. He told her Brook Lynn set her up as the other driver in the Route 91 crash, and that he had known for weeks and buried it.

He did not soften his own part in it. He said out loud that he is not sure he ever knew his wife, and then asked whether he could sleep there. Willow let him in.

Outside, Hudson watched Chase arrive and leave from the treeline. Nobody in that scene knows he was there.

Why did Trina give up her music?

Because Brook Lynn being the driver reframes everything that came after — Jordan's accident, and the attack on Curtis that followed. At the hospital Portia told her plainly that what happened to Curtis is on Curtis.

Trina heard it and dropped the music anyway. She left with Kai. Isaiah, meanwhile, is quietly worried that Curtis will never accept him as Dez's father.

How bad is it inside the Quartermaine house?

Brook Lynn cried to Ned about Chase leaving, and Ned did not hand her the comfort she was after. He talked about how the family covers for each other, which is not the same as telling her she was right.

Then Gio came in angry, because his mother had kept another secret from him. Brook Lynn used Phoebe crying as a reason to leave the room.

Where did Britt end up?

At Josslyn's, of all places. Joss had been grilling Hudson about why a man with gaps in his resume cares this much about Jasper Jacks Enterprises, and she had already refused to move to Australia and give up the CEO chair.

Britt walked in mid-argument, told Hudson to get out, and told Joss that Anna had just tried to kill her. Joss gave her the night.

What was the biggest moment?

The shot, and specifically who it was aimed at. A near miss would have been a stunt; firing at a hallucination in front of two witnesses turns Anna's condition into a fact other characters now have to act on.

The last image belongs to Jason, though. He went back to the scene to clean up the evidence — the man Sonny formally cut loose last Friday, still doing exactly that job.

What does Wednesday set up for Thursday?

Published spoilers for Thursday, September 10 have Jason issuing a threat despite being out of the business, Chase opening up to Dante, Brook Lynn getting a reality check, Trina getting a visitor she does not want, and Emma regretting something she did.
