General Hospital Recap Wednesday, September 16, 2026: Baines Arrests Nina, Chase Walks Out

- Wednesday, Sept. 16 (2 p.m. ET, ABC): Agent Baines arrested Nina Reeves in the Metro Court gardens over the disappearance and suspected murder of Jack Brennan.
- Chase packed a bag at the Quartermaine mansion and told Brook Lynn he had already asked a lawyer about a legal separation.
- Drew's own memory filled in the missing piece: he put Brennan's wallet in Nina's car.
The gist: The Brennan case moved — onto the wrong person. Two rooms away, a marriage ended and a frame-up paid off.

Previously on General Hospital
Tuesday ended with Josslyn naming Britt to Agent Baines, and Baines reaching for a warrant. Anna had told Valentin the truth about the Peter hallucinations, and Chase had already asked Alexis what a divorce would cost him. It's all in Tuesday's recap.
Why did Agent Baines arrest Nina Reeves?
For Jack Brennan. Baines came into the Metro Court gardens and took Nina into custody over Brennan's disappearance and suspected murder, and the room did not handle it gracefully — she was cuffed and walked out while diners held up their phones.
Nina had spent the previous scene doing exactly what you'd do. She told Sonny she thought she needed a lawyer, because the bureau had heard about her public blowup with Brennan. Ava turned up and started asking questions. Then the badge arrived.
Keep one thing straight: this is an arrest, not a case. The agent running it is the one we covered in this Alimi Ballard update, and his trail was planted.
How did the Brennan case reach Nina in six days?
| Date | Step |
|---|---|
| Fri., Sept. 11 | Nina becomes a person of interest in Brennan's disappearance |
| Mon., Sept. 14 | Baines questions Nina about what Brennan was to her |
| Tue., Sept. 15 | Baines pushes Josslyn on Nina and Brennan, then calls for a warrant |
| Wed., Sept. 16 | The arrest, in the middle of Nina's own hotel |
Six days, none of it resting on anything Nina left behind. The suspicion started in Friday's hour.

What did Chase tell Brook Lynn?
That he was going. She found him packing at the Quartermaine mansion, and he didn't soften it: the trust is gone, and he had already asked Alexis about a legal separation.
Brook Lynn argued for the version where the three of them leave with Phoebe and start over somewhere else. Chase wouldn't take it. She got a delay instead — no papers yet, and he'd come back the next day. He walked out; she cried.
Elsewhere, Tracy told Sonny that Brook Lynn had confessed to being the other driver in the crash that hurt Curtis and Jordan. Sonny asked why she wasn't doing more to save that marriage.

What did Carly walk in on at Anna's?
Valentin. She found him there with Anna and left about as smoothly as anyone leaves that room. Anna told him he has been somewhere else since Carly came into his life, then admitted to Felicia that she can't keep leaning on him — because she loves him.
She pointed him at the door. He took it, turned up at Carly's, and framed Josslyn's bureau trouble as something Joss will survive. Reassuring, yes. Also a man saying one thing in two houses in one afternoon.
How did Drew's frame-up land?
Through a flashback. Ava came to Drew rattled — she picked up a tick at the nature preserve, the last place she wants anyone poking around. He told her the bureau would not come for her. Then he remembered sliding Brennan's wallet into Nina's car.
So the arrest downtown was his, start to finish. Later, Scout told him how much she'd missed him during the stroke recovery. He promised nothing would come between them again — a heavy thing to say in the same hour you put a woman in handcuffs.
What happened at the stables?
Scout came clean to Danny about using him as an alibi — the smaller confession of the two. Charlotte turned up, filled in what Scout had left out, then pitched the real idea: catch Drew in a compromising position and you have leverage. Nobody said no.
The biggest moment
Nina walked out of her own hotel in handcuffs while the guests filmed it. The arrest could have happened in an interrogation room. Staging it in the gardens wrecks the Metro Court's week along with hers, and turns Drew's wallet trick into a public event with witnesses.
What it sets up for Thursday
Baines tells Nina he has enough to extradite her, and she learns where Brennan's wallet turned up. Ava confronts Drew, who answers with an insurance policy of his own. Carly meets Josslyn, Trina visits Curtis at Pentonville, and Brook Lynn hands Lucy Coe an ultimatum over a broken deal. The full week sits in the GH archive, and the on-today tracker says whether ABC is running a new hour.
