Friday, September 11, 2026 · Season 2026, Episode 178 (production #16043) · ABC. The last of four new hours this week, after Monday's Labor Day encore.
Missed the preview? Friday's spoilers had the Jason-Britt fight and Carly's move on Nina right. What they undersold was Tracy.
Previously on General Hospital
Thursday was the fallout hour. Anna gave the commissioner's job to Dante and went into therapy, and Chase filed an Ashford report that names his own wife. Thursday's recap has it scene by scene; Wednesday's covers the shot on Mount Emerson that set all of it off.
Will Jason help Britt press charges against Anna?
No. At the boathouse Britt asked him to stand behind her report of attempted murder, since he was on that mountain. He said he doesn't believe Anna would have pulled the trigger on her.
His case for sympathy was Anna's captivity and what it did to her. Britt heard it as him choosing Anna. Both recaps land the scene the same way: no shouting, just a wall between them.
Nobody at that boathouse changed their mind. That's the whole scene, and it's a bad sign for the couple.
Why did Carly send the WSB after Nina?
Agent William Baines came asking Carly and Valentin about Jack Brennan, who hasn't been seen. Carly told him about Nina threatening to destroy Brennan during an argument, and pointed him her way.
Valentin didn't like it. His worry is simple: once Carly says Nina's name to an investigator, his ex-wife is the suspect.
Then the show tightened it. At the Metro Court gardens, Nina told Ava she hasn't heard from Brennan since their fight, and Ava said the silence is probably for the best. Baines was watching them.
👉 The audience knows Brennan is dead and that Drew planted his wallet in Nina's car. Nina is the only one in the gardens who doesn't.

What did Jordan tell Curtis at Pentonville?
That Brook Lynn was the second driver in the crash that hurt them both. Curtis was angry that she's only looking at misdemeanor-level charges.
Jordan left with a second worry. Curtis's cellmate is Jenz Sidwell, and she fears he'll hurt Curtis to get at her. It's a quiet scene with a fuse in it.
Did Trina forgive Brook Lynn?
She didn't. Brook Lynn came to her place and apologized for staying quiet about the crash. Trina refused, and she read the recording-contract offer as guilt with a bow on it.
That's the second Quartermaine to show up at Trina's door this week, after Gio on Thursday. Neither visit went anywhere.
Is Tracy trying to end Brook Lynn's marriage?
Yes. Tracy asked Alexis to handle a divorce from Chase and claimed Chase has been circling Willow for months. Alexis told her a fault case would need proof of infidelity, and Tracy started thinking about how to get some.
Honestly, this was the scene the previews undersold. "Behind Brook Lynn's back" turned out to mean a lawyer.
Meanwhile Ned told Chase to fight for the marriage, with a few of his own cautionary tales. He also asked Chase a sharp question: is it the lies that have him furious, or who they were pinned on? Wednesday's recap has the answer on that last part. It was Willow.
What did Drew threaten Willow with?
Her own record. Drew came to her congressional office and told her Brennan's disappearance took her leverage away. He listed what he could expose: shooting him, drugging him, trying to drown him.
He also hinted that Nina's protection won't last. Willow held steady while he was in the room. After he left, she came apart.
What was the biggest moment?
Carly saying Nina's name to Baines. The Jason-Britt fight was louder, but the WSB now has a name, a motive and a witness, and Drew's planted wallet is waiting for someone to find it.
| Thread | Where it stood Monday | Where it stands now |
|---|---|---|
| Anna | Seeing Peter, still commissioner | In therapy; Dante in charge; Britt wants charges |
| Brook Lynn | Secret second driver | Named in the report; Trina and Curtis both know; Tracy wants a divorce |
| Brennan case | Body hidden, no investigation | WSB asking; Carly has named Nina |
What does Friday set up for Monday?
Early spoilers for Sept. 14–18 from Celeb Dirty Laundry and Soap Dirt both have Baines treating Nina as his main suspect once the planted wallet turns up. Celeb Dirty Laundry also frames Britt's Spoon Island secret as a possible deal-breaker for her and Jason.
Those are forecasts, not aired scenes. Monday's preview goes up the night before on the General Hospital page, and this week's rundown shows which spoilers came through.
